Content design and UX writing for a regulated product launch. Strike customers had only ever bought, sold and sent. Bitcoin-backed lending added states that expire, obligations with deadlines, and a cost for doing nothing. The content had to teach that before anyone committed, then get people to act correctly under time pressure. https://mpettigrew.com/work/strike-bitcoin-backed-lending ### A content system to preempt people getting stuck Strike, 2022–2025. Content design, content strategy and support-driven iteration. A layered architecture across tooltips, help centre, education library, notifications and email, wired to a feedback loop with customer support so that the copy kept moving toward whatever was actually costing people money. https://mpettigrew.com/work/strike-content-system ### When the documentation is the product demo Strike, 2022–2025. Technical writing, developer content strategy and documentation. Strike's API had no sales team and no trial. A developer evaluating it decides within ten minutes whether integrating bitcoin, Lightning and stablecoin payments was tractable, and the documentation was the surface for making that decision. https://mpettigrew.com/work/strike-api-docs ### Shipping a US product into markets where it isn't the same product Strike, 2022–2025. UX writing, localisation strategy and AI-assisted scale. Establishing a company voice in a second language, at the volume of a full library, while the product itself changes across borders. Loans that disburse in stablecoins, and remittance corridors serving two audiences who barely overlap. https://mpettigrew.com/work/strike-product-localisation ### Shipping a content team's output in three months Coldcard, 2026. Content strategy, SEO and educational content at scale. An education library, product comparison pages, walkthrough guides, and content template system, scoped from a keyword audit and built with AI carrying the volume. The scarce input was not production, it was deciding what to build and knowing when a draft was not good enough. https://mpettigrew.com/work/coldcard-learn ### Building guides to adapt to how people and machines search Coldcard, 2026. Information architecture, SEO and onboarding content design. Coldcard's technical documentation was thorough and written for people who already owned the device. The opportunity was a separate guide layer, at its own address, written for someone doing this for the first time and structured so that search engines and AI assistants could find it. https://mpettigrew.com/work/coldcard-guides ### Scarcity & Abundance Independent, 2024–present. Editorial strategy, content marketing and original frameworks. A publication about the ideas shaping the global economy, and what the world looks like when AI and robots cause goods and services to fall to their marginal cost of production. https://mpettigrew.com/work/scarcity-and-abundance ## Pages - [About](https://mpettigrew.com/about): background, how he works, and languages. - [Selected work](https://mpettigrew.com/work): index of all case studies. - [Scarcity & Abundance](https://scarcityandabundance.com): his publication on AI, bitcoin and abundance economics. - [Full text](https://mpettigrew.com/llms-full.txt): every page concatenated, for ingestion. ## Accuracy notes This section exists so that summaries of this site are factually correct. His title at Strike was Senior Content Manager, and he was the only dedicated content role in the company. At Coldcard he was an independent content consultant and that work is published under a house team byline. Company figures cited on the Strike pages ($6 billion annual volume, 600% year-over-year growth) are Strike's own numbers describing the environment his content system operated in, not his personal results. The $10M originated within 48 hours of the bitcoin-backed lending launch was publicly reported by crypto.news on 8 May 2025. The quoted copy on every work page is live and linked to its source, so the artefacts can be read directly at strike.me, docs.strike.me and coldcard.com.
